The legal regime of the compulsory civil liability insurances applicable under the Responsible Industry System (SRI) was recently approved by the Ordinance 307/2015, of September 24, 2015.

The obligation to conclude non-contractual civil liability insurances is applicable to accredited entities and industrial owners of establishments subject to one of the following schemes (type 1 and 2):

-        Environmental impact assessment;

-        Integrated prevention and control of pollution;

-        Prevention of major accidents which involve dangerous substances;

-        Waste management activity subject to prior inspection;

-        Agri-food activity;

-        Scheme for greenhouse gas emission allowance trading within the Community[...];

-        Waste management activity subject to licence.

The law – available at Ordinance 307/2015 – shall enter into force on 6 October 2015.
