The Portuguese Government approved the new Regulation of Maritime Tourist Activity applicable to maritime authorized entities.

We highlight the following amendments introduced by Decree-Law 149/2014, of October 10: (i) increase of the type of vessels that can be used for the maritime activities, (ii) liberalization of the exercise of the activity, (iii) new rules for minimum safe capacity, (iv) in certain situations, not mandatory use of a vessel for assistance, (v) and the reduction of obligations to provide information.

The Decree-Law entered into force on October 11, 2014.
