SELF-EMPLOYEES – CHANGES TO THE SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS

Decree-Law nr. 53/2018 of 2 July, which entries into force as on 1 July 2018, makes relevant changes to the social security benefits applicable to Self-employed individuals as follows:

a)    Sickness allowance – it is due as of the 11th day of the temporary disability;

b)   Unemployment allowance for employees;

c)    Parental allowance - the allowance now includes the subsidies for assistance to children and grandchildren;

d)   Unemployment allowance for self-employed individuals economically dependent of a contracting entity;

e)    Unemployment allowance for self-employed individuals with business activity.
