On July 22, 2014 enters into force the new law applicable to urban planning in Cape Verde.

The legal framework approved by Law 60/VIII/2014 lays down the rules applicable to land division, urbanization, edification and the use and conservation of buildings.

The law also foresees the forms of prior checking, including the licenses and administrative authorization procedures, enforcement and monitoring, as well as the sanctions framework, personal guarantees and administrative fees.
