Following the transposition of the Directive 2013/10/UE, of 19 March 2013, the Portuguese Government approved the Decree-Law 62/2014, of April 24, relating to aerosol dispensers.

The main change are in the Annex to the Decree-Law number 61/2010, of June 9, which foresees the mandatory requirements for place in the market the aerosol dispensers. We highlight the following changes:

• Repeal of point 2.4;
• Amendment of point 1.7a and 1.7b;
• Change of point 2.2.  

The entry into force of the new provisions occurs on different dates:

• i. As from June 19, 2014, for the aerosol dispensers containing a substance; 
• ii. From June 1, 2015, for the aerosol dispensers containing mixtures. In these cases, manufacturers of aerosols are authorized to apply the new labeling requirements earlier on a voluntary basis, and the packaging placed on the market before June 1, 2015 do not have to be labeled again until June 17, 2017.
